I made H's winter hat (finished it today). I am looking forward to fall, can you tell? This year Harvey chose some nice bright colors for his hat. It originally had bunny ears, but Harvey wouldn't even let me put it on him; so I pulled out the ears and added a blue to the top per Harvey's request. My pom-poms turned out really nice this time! I am quite proud of them!
Today we had to get out of the house before someone was strangled. Someone felt that today was one of those days where dumping all of the crayons onto the floor, knocking all of the alphabet magnets onto the floor, and throwing all of the rocks found in the plants onto the floor just had to happen. So after picking up the same cat scratcher for the fourth time in an hour we loaded up the truck with lunch fixings, H's bike, and Squeakie and then we hit a nice small loop in the Rattlesnake. Harvey has really been doing so great on his bike. I have to jog to keep up with him now. This was his first mountain biking expedition and he did so great! Mary met us on the trail and we had a super nice time!
Harvey was exhausted by the time we got back to the truck; I had to carry him part of the way back. Then he actually ate an almond butter and jelly sandwich. I don't care for peanut butter and neither does H, so I bought some almond butter, yummy, and he proceed not to eat any sandwiches I made for him. I thought I had a child who would not eat a nut-butter and jelly sandwich. He ate some yummy apple too. He had been really into apples lately. After we drove home H slept for 3.5 hours. It was crazy!
How am I going to get down there?
Then on Sunday we went to the fair to see the animals. It was free entry day so that was pretty awesome. H liked touching the sheep and looking at the cows. He really wanted to pet one, but I was not okay with this since they were all tied up to the wall with their backs to us. He LOVED the chicken/goose/duck barn. He kept trying to get the birds out of the cages. On the way to the petting zoo there were two John Deere kiddie pedal tractors set up for the kiddie tractor pull- ages 4 and up. Harvey could not participate, but this did not stop him from making a few mad dashes to get on the pedal tractors.
When the tractor pull was over Harv could finally get onto this ride!
Not even the petting zoo could hold his interest and they had chickens and super cute baby cows.
We went to the children's museum last week and Harvey true to form spent most of his time playing with the grocery carts in the awesome shopping section.
At one point Harvey had four carts going!
This is just a cute shot of Harvey walking into the park to meet Olive and Stacie. He actually got into the water and played! It has taken all summer to get him into the water; he thinks it is too COLD!
And finally, here are some random shots of our little house. I repainted the downstairs! I love the new colors.
A parting shot of Harvey's new love in life - Matchbox Cars!
